HOHEIKAN Volunteers
Volunteer staff will guide visitors through the HOHEIKAN’s highlights. The guided tour is free of charge. Please feel free to join it if you please.

Guide information | Guided tour of Hoheikan During the summer, when requested, guides will provide a tour of Hasoan, the traditional Japanese garden next door to Hoheikan, which is designated by the Japanese government as an important cultural asset. |
Eligibility | Individual guests * For groups, a 10-minute on-the-spot explanation will be provided near the entrance to Hoheikan. Please make reservations if you wish to use this service. Note that we may not be able to accommodate your request depending on booking circumstances. |

Sample Course
There is no set order for touring the rooms at Hoheikan, but the following sample route is the best way to see the many highlights of the building.
For details on each room, check the Rooms’ Features section on the Highlights of HOHEIKAN page.
When visiting Hoheikan, feel free to use the tower elevator to access the second floor if you have trouble using the stairs or have a stroller.
* The Himeyuri, Budo, and Shita no Hiroma (Lower Hall) rooms on the first floor may not be available during Hoheikan hours if they are being used for a private function.
